Centenary Celebration of St Joseph’s Church Thanksgiving
Today we celebrate the Feast of our Lord Jesus Christ the King of the Universe in the last Sunday of the Ordinary time year B and the next Sunday we will begin the Season of Advent Year C along with the New Translation of the Lectionary for the Word of God.
I would like to thank you all for your faith, commitment and generous hearts. Indeed! The centenary celebration of St Joseph’s Church was a moment of great joy and blessings of the Lord for all parishioners of St Joseph’s. We have witnessed this as a sign of God’s wonderful encounter and His presence in the lives of thousands of faithful in this church. It was our privilege and humble hearts to thank and praise God along with our Rt Rev Bishop Alan Williams, priests, religious, volunteers, school children, catechists, teachers, staff, invited guests and all the parishioners of St Joseph’s.
The success of the centenary celebration was due to our hard work, commitment, selfless service, generous heart and love for Christ at St Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Let us thank God for all His grace, loving mercy and constant guidance by the power of the Holy Spirit and through the intercession of our beloved patron St Joseph and Blessed Mother Mary.
I am greatly grateful to those who have involved from the very beginning and committed in various works to mark St Joseph’s Centenary Celebration. I also remember our loved ones and express my heartfelt thanks to those who have contributed a lot for the wellbeing of this Church.
Let us always be united in Christ’s love, service and humility for the glory of God and salvation of our souls to love Him, Serve Him and Adore Him at St Joseph’s Church Leyton.
The Transfiguration Painting Project will start soon to mark our centenary celebration as we have planned. The blessed sacrament will be removed from the tabernacle during the work.
May the loving God bless the cheerful giver forever. Amen
